Timothy Antonacci, composer, conductor, and educator, teaches vocal/general music at the Shenendehowa Middle Schools. A recent graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Timothy earned a Master of Music in Composition and Theory in the spring of 2014, and a Bachelor of Music in Education in the fall of 2010.
Prior to his appointment at Shenendehowa, Timothy held the position of Adjunct Professor of Music Education at SUNY Fredonia. Through his collaboration with the Student Opera Theater Association and Performing Arts Company at Fredonia Timothy has music directed numerous productions including Company, Strawberry Fields and Gallantry. Most recently Timothy made his stage-directing debut with SOTA’s production of Into the Woods.
Through his graduate work at Fredonia, Timothy had several new works premièred including his chamber opera The Remembering and Monotone and a choral work commissioned by the Herkimer County Music Educators Association. He also had the opportunity to attend master classes with composers Steven Stuckey and Jake Heggie. During his graduate studies he co-founded and served as Artistic Director of the Hannah Hasbrouck Petersen Memorial Fund Concert Series, which brings professional and amateur musicians together in free community performances with an emphasis on education. Throughout his time as artistic director, Timothy has conducted numerous works, including: the Wilberg Requiem, Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals, Vaughan Williams The First Nowell, and Britten’s Noye’s Fludde in collaboration with the Chautauqua Children’s Chorale.
