Testimonials From The NY Capital District: Saratoga Children’s Theatre In Saratoga Springs NY

“My daughter Lillian (8) loved her SCT camp experience last summer. She had so much fun learning her part and working with other kids to make a memorable production.
The staff and teachers are wonderful and she can’t wait to go again this year.”

“As a costume designer for SCT in the summer of 2011, I was so pleased to observe the quality of the summer camps for children. I worked with the youngest ones. As a theatre professional of over 30 years I knew well the magic of theatre, the benefits one takes away, be it an audience member or an artistic staff person or an actor.

But for the most part children all ages, but especially the youngest group,.come in that door on the first day of their experience without a clue of what they are capable of acheiving. They leave taller, prouder, more selfconfident, and with a new selfawarness of their abilities. They have discovered the power of listening, the joy of singing, and dancing. The courage to try something new, the rewards of discipline, the benefits of respect for themselves, their fellow cast members and the artistic staff who are working with them. If one could pick only one continuing educational experience outside of formal school, theatre has to be the most comprehensive and beneficial.

They will take these new skills and awarnesses everywhere they go. To school, at home, with friends, and into the future. The experience is priceless.”

“Thank you for providing Saratoga with such a high quality and exciting window to the Arts for our children.  My son, Josh, has been a happy participant since he was 5 years old (now 9) and it has been an incredible experience for him in the areas of confidence, ability, exposure to the Arts, and FUN!  He has learned so much about acting, singing, performing, and himself in the process.  You and your staff have always been professional, helpful, and supportive of his needs.

We look forward to continuing to participate in and support your efforts, and thank you for all that you do for our Community.”

Fondly,

Beverly T.

“My daughter Gabrielle Vuillaume has been a student at Saratoga Children’s Theatre the last few years. Most of her advanced training has come from SCT. The class “Master Your Audition”has prepared Gabrielle to successfully audition and get lead roles. Gabrielle has met children from all over the Capital District, and during the summer camps, the children come from beyond the region.

Meg Kelly has done a great job bringing in professional staff to work with the children who are highly qualified in their field. Every time Gabrielle finishes a performance from SCT, she has gained more knowledge and has more training to be successful. Most importantly at SCT, the children are taught to have fun and respect one another in the end no matter who gets the lead role.

We are excited for 2012, and what Saratoga Children’s Theatre has to offer the community.”

“Saratoga Children’s Theatre has been a phenomenal organization for our son, Henry.  He has learned so much about theatre including auditions, acting, singing and dancing…all the while having fun!!  He’s had some great instructors and made some wonderful friends!!  We are looking forward to future opportunities.

Thanks to all involved for their hard work and dedication to the kids.”

“My son, Devin Towne experienced “theatre” in elementary school when he auditioned and received a small role in “The Music Man.”  In Middle School, Devin got a small role in High School Musical.  While Devin enjoyed these experiences, I feel that his enthusiasm in the stage would have waned as a young boy in middle school. Devin auditioned for the “Wizard of Oz” with the Saratoga Children’s Theatre and received a part in the production.  This was the play and company that started the theatre “itch” for Devin.  He has participated in many plays, including Charlie Brown, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls and many others with the Saratoga Children’s Theatre.  Devin has gone from a young, shy boy to a confident teenager who loves to be on stage, sing, act and mingle with the play group.  He is now in a high school production and is very happy where he is.  I can not thank Saratoga Children’s Theatre enough for the opportunities they have afforded Devin and the support he has been given to become a confident teen-age boy who loves to sing and act.”

Sincerely,

Mary Ellen T.
